There are many weapons in this city. Art By: Quique Alcatena |
It is not the weapon that makes
a man or woman feel safe, rather it is the thought of retribution
against their imagined attacker. After the horrors of the Storyteller
Wars, one might think the world had grown tired of violence. However,
it had only grown weary of fear, and found renewed vigor in anger
against possible antagonists. If we are to disarm the citizen, we
must disarm the avarice within those who would prey upon them. Clutch
tight your knives, clubs, and guns dear citizens until all the
headlines read, 'NO NEWS TO REPORT'.

Infinica No. 3 – Weapons and their Legality
Within the Infinite
City, laws will change as one crosses the borders between
Neighborhood States. It is the duty of Cooperation Agents of
the City Works Agency to ensure a degree of similarity between
laws of bordering Neighborhood States.
This city can be a dangerous place. Art By: Aubrey Beardsley |
It's actually the duty of
Cooperation Agents to bully Neighborhood States into capitulating to
their odd requests. - P.A.
This similarity of
legal codes is needed to ensure smooth travel between these states,
otherwise citizens may unwittingly break the law of a state for an
action that was legal in the previous one.
Are they really different
places, if all the laws are the same? One nation under the City Works
Agency. - P.A.
Laws of
Neighborhood States mainly differ in the areas of property rights,
taxes, and various minor ordinances. The City Works Agency
recognizes the need of Neighborhood States to express the values
of various cultures through laws and regulations.
It is the stated
goal of the City Works Agency to create a unified culture
across the city as a whole, with each Neighborhood State having its
own subculture.
One culture to rule them all,
one culture to bind them. - P.A.

Weapons fall under
the Unified City Codes and Laws. Armor is considered
completely legal in all cases where there is no instance of a weapon
being integrated into said armor.
The Unified City
Codes and Laws Chapter 237, Article CXIV, Section 315.24 specifies
the following weapons as not needing special licensing for owning and
carrying on the street:
-Pneumatic Pistol
with a caliber no larger than .25 (6.35 mm).
-Weapons with
blades no longer than 12 inches (30.48 cm).
-Weapons with hafts
no longer than 24 inches (60.96 cm).
Weapons that don't pose a
threat. - P.A.

Pneumatic
weapons have an inverse relationship between range of effectiveness
and size of projectile fired. The first repeating rifle in real world
history was an air-rifle called the Girardoni rifle, which was first
produced in 1780. It could fire 20 balls of .47 to .51 caliber (there
is some conflict over the exact caliber) in 1 minute. Due to the
fragile nature of the rifle, it made a poor infantry weapon. It
required 1500 pumps from its hand-pump to fill its pressure tank.
A
pistol may be converted to a rifle, doubling the range and
multiplying the cost by 1.5x. It requires 10 minutes of pumping with
a hand pump to refill the pressurized tank after it has fired its
full number of shots. A rifle or pistol may have its pressure
reservoir switched out after a minute of work. A new pressure
reservoir may be purchased for 20% of the weapon's cost.
